Youth Job Opportunities with the Canadian Youth Basketball League

The Canadian Youth Basketball League (CYBL) is hiring youth across the GTA to fill three exciting positions. This is a great opportunity to earn money while gaining experience and having fun. The CYBL is an organization that is committed to promoting amateur basketball in Canada and helping student-athletes develop important skills on and off the court. 1) Statistician Court Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Record live in-game statistics (field goals, attempts, rebounds, assist, steals, turnovers etc.)
  • Entering game data on the website.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Work well within a team
  • Organized
  • Self-motivated
  • Passion for sports an asset

2) Video Court Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • Set up video camera
  • Record each on-court game
  • Editing
  • Uploading games on to the website

Requirements:

  • Great attention to detail
  • Punctual/reliable
  • 2-4 years experience in video recording fast pace sports
  • Must have your own video camera
  • Passion for sports an asset

3) On-Court Convener

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that both teams know their respective benches
  • Ensure that both teams provide scorekeepers and that score sheets filled out appropriately
  • Provide a quick tutorial on operating the score clock and score sheet
  • Ensure that referees have knowledge of CYBL in-game rules
  • Ensure that the score sheet is signed by referees and scorekeepers at the end of the game
  • Provide support for Video coordinator and Statistic coordinator
  • Ensure that first aid is on site
  • Provide in-game report on any injuries, incidents or altercation
