“It’s a win-win situation for small companies that need help with the cost of hiring new employees. VPI is a game changer in my hiring process.”

– Dionne, Pro-Motions Ltd.

Situation

Pro-Motions Ltd. is a Scarborough-based company that specializes in in-store promotions, product demonstrations and trade shows. They were having trouble with hiring. The candidates they found were interviewing well but were unable to handle the responsibilities of the position once hired. After hearing about the new Employing Young Talent Incentive (EYTI), they contacted VPI.

Solution

EYTI is a government-funded financial incentive designed to help employers with the cost of training and onboarding qualified youth hires. The incentive is offered in two installments to ensure that youth have sustained, and meaningful work experience and employers are able to retain staff and focus on growing their business.

When Dionne from Pro-Motions contacted VPI, she was put in touch with our team of expert Job Placement Specialists. Together, they came up with a multi-pronged approach for finding quality candidates, including job fairs, our job matching service, and job placements. According to Dionne, “VPI, does their homework on the applicants. Their selection process is better. I have hired on all my employees from VPI.”

Since contacting VPI Dionne has hired 10 youth staff members, all of whom qualify for the EYTI financial incentive.
