Client:Samudri
Goal: Short-term goal of working in security
Challenge: Lack of credentials; discouragement due to age
Support offered: One-on-one coaching, resume and cover letter support

“Anybody searching for a job should attend VPI”

– Samudri, former job seeker

Situation

Samudri is a foreign trained professional with years of experience. After the end of a recent job contact, she was left without an income. To help her get her finances back on track, she set a short-term career goal of finding a job in the security industry.

She was having difficulty getting an interview due to her lack of industry experience and felt discouraged starting in a new industry at an older age.

Samudri came to VPI for help with her job search. She met with one of our expert Career Specialists encouraged her to sign up for security training and licensing. Samudri also attended a resume workshop where she learned to rework her resume to highlight relevant skills.

A few months after her first meeting, Samudri had successfully completed her security licensing test. With her new credentials, she attended a VPI job fair where a large security company was interviewing candidates.

Samudri participated in an on-the-spot interview and was hired.
