Building a stronger community

We’re excited to partner with the City of Hamilton and McQuesten Community Centre to offer one of Hamilton’s largest community events this year – the Community Connections Fair. This event is ideal for parents, young adults, teachers and guidance counsellors who wish to meet and learn about local businesses that offer educational programs, job placements and other support services in Hamilton.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Presentations

Interactive presentation sessions to learn about career and job placement programs and to answer your questions.

9:30 – 10:30 a.m.
  • Community Placement – a free program which helps Ontario Works recipients secure a volunteer position at a non-profit or Government organization.
11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

This presentation is ideal for parents and organizations that work with Grade 11-12 students and wish to learn about these programs:

  • Ontario Youth Apprenticeship – a free program that offers students meaningful work experience while exploring a skilled trade career.
  • Specialist High Skills Major – a free program that offers students valuable industry certifications and on-the-job training through cooperative education placements.

Guided Tours

Receive a tour of the following services available at the McQuesten Community Centre:

  • Food Bank
  • McQuesten Urban Farm
  • And a variety of other community programs available to youth, adults and seniors

Reserve an information booth

Organizations that wish to reserve a booth must be a Hamilton business that offers employment, educational and/or training services. All participating organizations must pay a $20 fee on the day of the event. Pre-registration is mandatory as space is limited. To register, fill out our online inquiry form or call 905-387-2220.
